خَيْرُكُمْ مَنْ تَعَلَّمَ الْقُرْآنَ وَعَلَّمَهُ
The Prophet Muhammad sallAllaahu alaihi wa sallam said:
“The best of you are those who learn the Quran and teach it to others”.
The Quran studies curriculum is designed to develop a thorough grounding in the main themes of the Quran in light of the ahadeeth and Seerah. Initially, students will be taught the main themes of the Quran within the framework of the 6 Groups of Surahs. A selection of ahadeeth and milestones from the Seerah will be integrated within the study of the surahs to enable students to develop a holistic understanding.
The next stage will introduce pupils to a closer look at each Surah with the use of Quranic Diagrammatic Overviews (QDO) highlighting the central theme of each Surah and its link to its previous and next surahs. This will be integrated with a selection of ahadeeth and a closer look at the main key events in the Seerah.
Finally, students will be introduced to Usool ut Tafseer and Uloom ul Quran in order to carry out a detailed study of Surah al Asr with the Quranic Framework Course (QFC). This course will elaborate the 4 conditions for salvation through a study of relevant parts of the Quran and a selection of ahadeeth and in depth analysis of the main events in the Seerah.
In addition, students will:
• Read one Juzz with meaning on a weekly basis.
• Read a variety of books on Seerah throughout the years.
• Write specific surahs/ayaat of the Quran in Arabic alongside the meaning as an ongoing exercise.
• Write specific ahadeeth in Arabic and the meaning throughout their study.
• Be introduced to the Science of Hadeeth and Hadith classifications.
