Aims
The IGCSE in Mathematics qualification enables students to:
- Develop their knowledge and understanding of mathematical concepts and techniques.
- Acquire a foundation of mathematical skills for further study in the subject or related areas.
- Enjoy using and applying mathematical techniques and concepts and become confident in using mathematics to solve problems.
- Appreciate the importance of mathematics in society, employment and study.

How is it assessed?
At Palm Global Academy we thrive to achieve high attainment. Although the IGCSE is two-tiered, with a foundation and higher entry, students at Palm Global Academy will take the higher pathway.
Each paper is assessed through a 2-hour examination set and marked by Pearson.
The total number of marks for each paper is 100.
Exam Information
There are two series in the year in which students can take the external IGCSE exams for Mathematics. This is in January and June. Parents and guardians will need to notify the school at the beginning of the academic year as to which exam series they intend to sit.
All exams will be supervised and taken at an examination centre local to you.
